Well, Lucas is currently brain dead at Maine Medical Center in Portland, ME. No one can figure out what happened. He started having severe migraines at Easter and they were so bad he was vomiting, etc. He was put on migraine medication, to no avail. Last night he stopped breathing at home and went into cardiac arrest. They revived him and took him to the ER. He went into cardiac arrest again, again he was revived and brought to the Level III PICU at Maine Medical Center. They ran more tests, did 2 more CT scans and still have no clue what happened. But he is no longer able to breathe on his own and his parents (my cousin and his wife) are now faced with a decision every parent dreads.

That poor little boy. My prayers are with him and your entire family. I am so sorry.
My son Joshua was in karate with Lucas. Joshua still talks about all the fun they had in karate, and he always wanted to stand next to him, because they were the same height.:) Joshua is a very emotional young man, and dropped out of karate soon after. He still talks about his karate and Lucas days, and still gets emotional, both happy, and sad. You see Joshua was going through a very rough time in a foster home, he was being physically abused there. I feel when he went to karate, and saw Lucas, and " hung out" with him he was truely happy for that time. I know this, Joshua later told me. I just want to thank you for getting Lucas in karate, and Lucas for being such a wonderful friend to my son, and leaving such a big impact on Joshua. Godspeed, June
